Background

Clearwater communications are proud to have managed CIC’s flagship events since 2017. The CIC Sustainable Construction Award is one of the biggest events in CIC Construction Month.  The event provides an excellent platform for outstanding organisations and industry practitioners to share knowledge and experience in innovative technologies and green materials, and aims to:

  • recognise innovation and sustainability best practices among organisations and practitioners in construction industry, in particular the younger generation of the construction industry.

  • promote the latest achievements of sustainable construction to industry professionals.

  • continuously nurture sustainable development and low carbon construction in the construction industry.

Going virtual for the first time allowed everyone to participate in this exciting event and gain more insights on the new direction in sustainable construction from renowned speakers and awardees. This year the Award trophies were even made of recycled concrete which obtained a CIC Green Product Certification, implementing the sustainable construction concept on waste reduction and carbon reduction.

Experience & Execution

In 2020, the event was virtualised and pre-recorded for the first time by Clearwater Communications.   We used Chroma Key shooting for 50 awardees and 10 VIP’s in just 3 days, directing every participant to seamlessly match with special CG effects, on stage and offstage animations and the 3 D virtual stage design.  We also created the show content for the virtual LED wall. The virtual format made the event even more sustainable.

Results

The event met the business objectives. Around 1,500 pax joined our CIC SCA 2020 virtual event.
